Get some sleep

Ukraine, Chernobyl, 2017.

Entering this room gives you the best impression of what happend in just a couple of days in Chernobyl after the disaster.

Many people have been evacuated amongst them a lot of children.

You can find this dormitory in 1 of the daycare houses still remaining 'intact' on the road to the power plant

At the abandoned theme parkof Prypjat, you find a couple of abandoned attractions like these bumper cars. They look so incredible spooky.. Like children were riding them and just jumped out the moment the evacuation was initiated. Pretty cool place.

1 of the places that creeps me out the most in the whole area of Chernobyl is the daycare for children. Chernobyl and Prypjat was a very rich area, because most engineers made a lot of money and could afford daycare for their children. You can still find high level of radiation in this area.

The books, dolls and iron can still be found in the abandoned houses. Many of the wooded building have been taken down, due to the fact that radiation stays inside of the wood and was easy to take down.

Drive Shaft

Drive Shaft

The driveshaft has done its duty and was left behind after the evacuation in 1986.

The USSR Archives

The USSR Archives

Ukraine, Chernobyl, 2017.

Underneath the biggest antenna I saw in my life, there is a bunker and building that had mega large Archives from the Sovjet union time during the time Chernobyl reactor was still working.

The Antenna was kept a secret before the disaster in 1986.

Ukraine, Chernobyl, 2017.

On that day, when the whole area of Chernobyl was evacuated, people had no time to take things with them or to clean up.

What you see here is an abandoned class room, probably for children from the age of 14 and up.

Have a close look into the past. Time stood still and this is what is left after 31 years.

This corridor stretches out for more than 500 meters

On the bunk beds in this daycare, you find some interesting pieces still laying around. This doll welcomes you into the past and waits for here previous owner to come back someday..

Tricycle

Tricycle

On the way out you can even find a little Tricycle bike parked in front of the daycare.

I like the fact that is has no more wheels, showing you that only the iron and plastic seat has survived the test of time.

Fluvial Port

Fluvial Port

Ukraine, Chernobyl, 2017.

Once this was a vivid and energetic port house where many people came to wait for a boat, do some shopping or went to have a beer in the bar next to this beautiful place.

Now it is like the rest, just a ruin.

Ukraine, Chernobyl, 2017.

Want to spend a night at this abandoned Hotel in Prypjat?

A little too much radiation perhaps! And its hard to find any place to sleep with windows. But still here you can see the city was quite vivid before the evacuation and a lot of foreigners came to work with the Russians and Ukrainians.

This is the supermarket in Prypjat. The couches, beds and furniture have been taken from other buildings so to collect it and burn it or destroy it.

The supermarket still has chopping cards and signs of the old supermarket hanging in the ground floor.
