In a building on the area in Enschede called het ‘Roombeek’, many new buildings have arised after the fatal fireworks disaster on 13 may 2000. One of these buildings that looks a bit boring from the outside, is the ‘eekenhof’. This building has a central interior where all apartments are connected by an elevator and all levels are connected in a circle. Because of this and the round shaped used in the building, from downstairs looking upwards, the architects created an amazing light and shadow play. Buying this picture is all about the light, the shadows and lines and of course the architecture. To the photographer, this shape looks like a lightbulb going off in our minds, when we have either a new idea of a great new insight.
